Volunteer Support Workers

ACS recruits volunteers through various avenues, job centre, collage, The Ayrshire Community Trust and word of mouth. Each individual be required to attend interview,  complete a 7 session volunteer induction training course ( 3hrs once per week) and register with the PVG scheme. On completion each trainee graduate will then go onto complete a work induction over a 2 week period and attend an interview, before being able to volunteer for ACS.

Once the above has been completed and 2 x references and satifactory PVG registration has been obtained. ACS staff will work with each volunteer to plan their future personal development and a Personal Development Plan will be constructed, at ACS we believe in “pathways to employment” and gave all those wishing to develop their careers support to secure furture employment.

Paid Staff vacancy within ACS will only be open to applications from our current volunteers.

Training

  • ACS has 60 training spaces per year
  • Training will be in 3 block with a max of 20 spaces each session.
  • Training spaces will be allocated to those who complete a satisfactory interview.
